Building your first product

To create a Product in the Sayduck Platform, you need a 3D model. There are plenty of ways to create 3D models, but if you are in need of 3D modelling services, Contact us!

Here is a video that shows you how to build the Sayduck Tutorial product from the Sample 3D Files.



1. Preparing 3D assets for the Platform

The Sayduck Platform supports most of 3D file formats, but the recommended file format is .obj. Other great choices are glTF and GLB.

2. Upload your 3D asset

Create a New Product from the top right corner:



Upload your 3D asset:

Click the Upload icon in the meshes or,
Drag and drop your files on the page.



Uploaded meshes will appear to your Meshes and to your Scene. You can also choose to add additional meshes or meshes that you have deleted back to the scene.

3. Edit your 3D Scene

Ones your model has been loaded you can move, rotate, and zoom your model by clicking, dragging, and scrolling in the Sayduck 3D viewer. Check out Navigation for more information!

Create a New material

To create a New material, click the + icon in you Materials tab.



Upload texture to material

Drag & drop Texture file to the Map Slot or,
Click the Upload icon inside a Map Slot

Assign Materials to meshes

There are two ways to assign Materials from you Resources to meshes:

Drag & dropping the material icon to a node in the scene or
Select a node and choose a material from the drop down.

Translate, rotate and scale

Moving, rotating and scaling products is simple with our Transformations tools. You can transform your product with accurate type-in values or with a free mode.

Translate Move your product in the 3D scene.

Rotate Rotate meshes or groups in the 3D scene

Scale Scale your product. This will change dimensions the true of your product.

Create new Variant / 3D scene

To create a new variant, click the Add variant button. This will duplicates your active Variant in to a new 3D scene that you can edit.

4. Publish & Embed!

Once your model looks how you want it, it’s time to publish and share your models.

First, click Edit properties and upload a Preview image for your product.



Then, open Embed & Export tab from the top-left side and click the Publish button to receive your Embed code that you can paste to a HTML website.

You can also export your products as glTF, GLB and USDZ. Hit export and the file will be sent to your account mail.

glTF: Widely used 3D file format.
GLB: Binary form of glTF.
USDZ: AR file format, only for iOS 12 devices. Check out, Embed USDZ files!
