Uploading 3D Models

Uploading 3D models to the Sayduck Platform is simple, either drag and drop your file(s) to the product page or click on Upload logo in Meshes.

We recommend you pack the 3D and texture files into a zip file or to a folder before uploading them.

Uploading & Processing

There is no hard product data size limit, but in general the maximum upload size is 50MB per 3D file (which might contain multiple parts). Files over this threshold will not be processed correctly.

200,000 polygons or less

For optimally performance of the 3D viewer and Augmented Reality, we do recommend to keep each products under 10MB, including textures and all. As a reference, iPhones start having serious difficulties in AR for models over 500k polygons.

Import formats

The Sayduck Platform supports the following formats: OBJ, FBX, GLB, GLTF, 3DS, 3MF, DAE and STL. We strongly recommend you use OBJ since it is our best supported and most tested format. GLB and GLTF are great alternatives which also support PBR materials.

Embedding a product in a 3D Viewer

You can embed Sayduck's 3D Viewer in your site in a matter of seconds.

Publish your product
Copy the embed code from the embed & export tab
And paste it to any HTML website.

If you do not have a website, you can test embedding the 3D viewer to https://jsfiddle.net

Viewer Restrictions

The free plan is for personal use only. To embed models on a commercial or company website, you will need to upgrade your plan.

Monthly views

Your plan determines how many views you're allowed per month. This amount refers to the total amount of views.

Free: 1000 Premium: 50 000 Business Pro: 100 000

These plans can be customized or upgraded to extend this limit.

White/black-listing URLs (Business Pro)

From your organization page, you can choose to white or black-list websites.

Additional options

There are customize options available when embedding the 3D Viewer in your website. All of these options can be found in the customize embed code tab and easily applied to the embed code.

Embed AR Files to your E-commerce Website

Embed USDZ files to any website

Experience AR content in Apple iOS 12 devices with USDZ files. These files use AR Quick Look and allow AR content to be viewed and shared on Safari, Messages, Mail and Files.

This feature requires the device to support ARKit. You can find a list of the supported devices from https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/122024

Just Upload your .OBJ files to the Sayduck Platform and export them as USDZ.

Open Sayduck Platform and export your product as USDZ
Upload an image and the USDZ file to your server or media library
Add a link to the USDZ file (with rel="ar") and the image tag inside the link (see the code below).

Create AR content on Android devices with GLB files. These files use Google Scene Viewer and allow AR content to be viewed on Android devices.

First Steps in the Platform

Building your first product

To create a Product in the Sayduck Platform, you need a 3D model. There are plenty of ways to create 3D models, but if you are in need of 3D modelling services, Contact us!

Here is a video that shows you how to build the Sayduck Tutorial product from the Sample 3D Files.

Prepare files

The Sayduck Platform supports most of 3D file formats, but the recommended file format is .obj. Other great choices are glTF, GLB and FBX. Here you can find out more on Uploading 3D Models

New Product

Now that you have a 3D model ready, it’s time to upload. First, log in to the Sayduck Platform.

Once you’re logged in, create a New Product from the top right corner:

Click the Upload icon in the meshes or,
Drag and drop your files on the page.

Edit your 3D Scene

Ones your model has been loaded you can move, rotate, and zoom your model by clicking, dragging, and scrolling in the Sayduck 3D viewer. Check out Navigation for more information!

Now create a New Material and apply your texture maps to the map slots.

To communicate with Sayduck's 3D Configurator, you can use the JavaScript API, which is based upon plain JavaScript events.. In the following sections, we detail the available messages, and their data format. You can setup event listeners to catch the events and react appropriately.
